“The awareness of jobs left could make people less possible to enter computer science fields,” said Robert Walker, associate professor and provisional chair of the Kent State University computer science department. “Really there is a myth that the whole thing is going to China and India.”

The Association of Computing Machinery put collectively a task force of computer scientists, labor economists and social scientists to investigate the Offshoring of computer-related jobs. The year-long study revealed only 2 to 3 percent of jobs was really being mislaid since of Offshoring.

“The Offshoring of jobs not a big problem in the computer industry,” Lu said. “How offshore its existing doesn’t matter, we still require a lot of software engineers here.”

Lu suggests the most likely way to deal with the Offshoring is to look at how to manage software outsourcing. Lu said, “The higher-level positions must remaining the US so, Software engineers and Computer science professionals are jobs that won’t be outsourced for Offshoring to be successful”.
